STEP 2

DYE PROCESS

Once the wool is hand carded in traditional wooden carding paddles, a yarn is formed to be used in weaving process. But first, the yarn needs to be dyed in order to attain those authentic and attractive colors. The yarn is submerged in a pot of pre-heated dye then naturally dried for a few days under the sun. Once dried, the weaving process begins.

STEP 3

WEAVING

Weaving is a special form of art in the region, passed down through generations. Think of each knot as a single point which creates the big picture. The fascinating motifs, patterns and background of your carpet are the result of a combination of numerous knots, woven one by one in months. The weaving step of the total carpet making process is a long haul and takes four to nine months.
